Monday, March 22, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Freedom Dance with Sally DeLozier|
Begin with a warm-up of simple patterns and breath.  Unwind and unfold as your movements gradually lead into ecstatic freedom dance.  Class concludes with slow stretches and centering poses for the body.  This heart-opening and body-warming dance experience is appropriate for everyone!  No dance technique required.

Tuesday, March 23, 5:45 - 7:15 p.m. the Art of Relaxation with Becky Holsen
Release unconscious layers of stress from your body and mind in this deeply relaxing class.  We will explore soothing breath work and gentle seated movements, leading into restful, supported yoga postures designed to restore the nervous system to a state of serenity. The class will end with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditative experience utilizing sensory awareness and visualization to induce a profound state of relaxation.  No yoga experience is necessary.

Wednesday, March 24, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Songwriting Workshop with Jamie Sussman
Do you love listening to music? Have you ever wondered what it takes to write a song?  Here is your chance to find out.  Learn how easy and fun it can be to write your own songs.  Exercises will get you writing your own lyrics and melody lines.  No musical talent is needed to participate in this workshop.  All you need is an open mind and some creativity.

How do we create meaning from life events using metaphor?  We know the use of metaphor and imagery in our movement work gives our mind/body a stepping sotne toward balance and ease.  So, too, can viewing every day events through a lens of metaphor and archegypal imagery provide richness and depth to our experiences. Discover the power of the mind in creating our experiences!

Celebrate the creative talent of members of our Plaza Wellspring community, including Tina Blatter, Abbe Findley, Brownie Hayek, Richard Hayek, Sheila Jewell, Helen Lea, Charlie Mosey, Bob Savino and Mary Ware.  Enjoy the art work and the company of some of our painters, sculptors, dancers, writers and musicians.  Bring family and friends and be inspired!

Sample classes and services we offer at Plaza Wellspring.  Try a little yoga, some pilates, gyrokinesis, self massage, and meditation. Get individual attention from our practitioners and treat yourself to a massage, relaxing breath work, craniosacral therapy, energy healing and more. Group sessions are open to all; private sessions are available on a first come first served basis - call us at 816-931-6533 to sign up for your sessions today.

Laughter Yoga

"Laughter is the best medicine" is an old saying that finds validation in current scientific research studies.  Join our Friday evening group and find out why we laugh for no particular reason. You won't find any yoga poses; leave your mat at home. Come lighten up, giggle, gaffaw, snicker and snort. Stimulate your immune system, strengthen your cardiovascular system, and leave feeling better than when you came. Pretty much guaranteed, or your money back. (oh, it's free)

Pilates Circuit
with Jamie Sussman

Burn calories, strengthen your core, and tone your muscles in this intensive Pilates workout! Experience Pilates exercises on the mat, with props (balls, foam rollers, rings, bands, spine corrector, arcs), and on the Pilates equipment (reformer, chair) in a circuit format.  Stations will be set to target toning of specific muscles, as well as incorporate cardio into your Pilates workout.  Prior Pilates experience is recommended, but not required.

Pilates Mat

6 weeks toward a flatter tummy, stronger core, and improved flexibility!
Pilates, done properly, helps make all of our every day movements easier and more graceful.

Lee Anne will lead you through mat work that you can safely practice at home. Learn how mental focus on proper placement and muscle sequencing increases the effectiveness of each exercise. Leave class with more energy and greater lightness in your step.

Yoga for Beginners
with Becky Holsen

This 6-week series makes it easy for anyone to get started in yoga - and you don't have to be a contortionist or even touch your toes!

You will learn basic yoga postures that develop strength, flexibility, energy, posture and balance - all with a compassionate, skillled approach.  Each class will include relaxation techniques for reducing tension and calming the mind. Yoga mats and other props are provided.
